Jennifer Cohen, PhD, MPH: Management and Program Analyst

Dr. Jennifer CohenDr. Cohen is an experienced public health and health services researcher and evaluator. She joined the National Center for Ethics in Health Care (NCEHC) in 2011. From 2004-2011, Dr. Cohen was a Principal Health Research Scientist at Battelle Memorial Institute where she designed and managed research and evaluation projects related to hospital quality, health care practices, occupational health, maternity care, reproductive health, maternal and child health and nutrition. Previously Dr. Cohen served as a senior health program and policy analyst at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) and a research associate at the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment (OTA).

Dr. Cohen has expertise in survey design and analysis, monitoring and evaluation, metrics development, benchmarking, nutrition and reproductive health, epidemiology, health services, and public health and research ethics. She has been a member of the University of Washington Institutional Review Board since 2006 and is an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Epidemiology. Dr. Cohen received post- doctoral training at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, her PhD in reproductive and nutritional epidemiology from Cornell University, MPH in infectious disease epidemiology from University of South Carolina, and her BA in economics from Johns Hopkins University.
