Basil Rowland, MSW, LCSW: IntegratedEthics Manager, Field Operations
Basil Rowland comes to the National Center for Ethics in Health Care (NCEHC) from the VA Medical Center Hampton, Virginia, where he has served as the Visual Impairment Services Team Coordinator since 1996. Mr. Rowland was a member of the ethics consultation team since 2003 and served as the IntegratedEthics Ethics Consultation Coordinator since the roll-out of IE program in 2007. He was also a member of the facility’s Institutional Review Board and served as co-chair for several years. In 2008, he completed a two month detail assignment with the NCEHC, helping to develop an ethical leadership curriculum for VISN LEAD training programs. Mr. Rowland earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature at the University of Virginia, and a Master of Social Work Degree at the University of Georgia. Most recently, he completed an Intensive Bioethics Course at the Georgetown University Kennedy Institute of Ethics. Mr. Rowland is currently assigned as the IntegratedEthics Manager, Field Operations.
