The incumbent serves as a Writer/Editor for the National Center for Ethics in Health Care (NCEHC). The NCEHC is VHA's primary office for addressing the complex ethical issues that arise in patient care, health care management, and research. Its mission is to clarify and promote ethical health care practices within VHA and beyond.

The incumbent will:

  • Develop key messages and communications materials appropriate for different target audiences
  • Write and edit text for various communications vehicles including reports, presentations, brochures, video, newsletters, posters, web pages, etc.
  • Ensure that written products do not conflict with the policies and objectives of the organization
  • Serve as a technical authority in the area of publishing concepts, practices, standards, and technology
  • Plan and implement new formats and products suitable for new media and accessible to specialized audiences
